We’re Liv & Jess. After years of navigating tough crowds on the dance floor, we carved out a space of our own. It grew into our mantra: “that’s so girl pit”, “she’s so girl pit.”

From Coachella to euro clubs, the LA underground to Portola sunsets — our journey has always been rooted in the dance floor.

At our core, we believe in radical self-expression and inclusivity. Liv is a first-gen Mexican American and we are both queer. Inclusivity isn’t a side note — it is the project.

Girl Pit is the mantra, the mission, and the community. But it’s also the name we DJ under! We can’t wait to keep making friends on the dance floor and creating fun, safe spaces for everyone.

Girl Pit is when you open up a pit at a concert — creating a safe space for girls to mosh and dance, especially in punk and electronic crowds that can be hostile to women.

For everyone — but girls, gays, and theys to the middle of the pit!

Girl Pit means taking up space in the world in areas traditionally dominated by men and heteronormativity.

Girl Pit is queer. Period. Why do anything if you aren’t having fun? It doesn’t matter how you look or dance — no judgement here.

Silly. Joyful. Unserious. While uplifting and caring for your community.
